Uploading a .Unitypackage Setup

Install Unity Hub / Creator Companion

  • Step 1: Download Unity Hub
  • Step 2: Update/Install Visual Basic
  • Step 3: Install Current Unity Version
  • Step 4: Install VRChat's Creator Companion
  • Step 5: In creator companion click Projects the top left, and click continue.
  • Step 6: Click create new project
  • Step 7: At the top make sure to click Avatars 2022 (Or latest version)
  • Step 8: Name your project and put it in a location with a lot of free space (10GB+)
  • Step 9: Click Create project

Get Unity Ready with GoGoLoco & Pumkins Avatar Tools

  • NOTE: if something pops up for 1 second but doesnt go, copy the .json Ex: "https://rurre.github.io/vpm/index.json", and add the repository manually, by clickingSettings bottom left, Packages > "add repository, paste the .json, and then continue"
  • Step 10: Go to https://gogoloco.net/ and click "Download using VCC".
  • Step 11: Click "Open With Creator COmpanion" at the top of the browser
  • Step 12: Click I understand, Add repository
  • Step 13: Go to https://rurre.github.io/vpm/ and click "Add to VCC"
  • Step 14: Go to https://vrcfury.com/download and click "Click here to add VRCFury to the VRChat Creator Companion"
  • Step 15: Go to https://www.poiyomi.com/download/ and scroll down to the ALCOM/Creator Companion section, hit Creator Companion, then Add to VCC
  • Step 16: Go back to projects
  • Step 17: hit manage project
  • Step 18: Find GogoLoco, Pumpkins Avatar Tools, Poiyomi, and VRCFury, click "Not installed" and then choose the latest version on all.
  • Step 18.5: Also install AV3Emulator and Gesture Manager. It's added by default so no need to add the repository. Click "Not Installed" and install the latest version.
  • Step 19: Click Open Project at the top right

(If you forget one, you can click Managae Projects, install the thing, and switch back to the window and it will automatically update, no need to close the project)

Get it into Unity

  • Step 20: Find your .unitypackage, double click on it as if it were an exe
  • Step 21: Leave everything checked as default, and click Import
  • Step 22: Open the folder that was created until you get to a .prefab
  • Step 23: Drag the .prefab up the hierarchy under Directional Light
  • If your avatar is pink, you have to fix the shaders (See: Fixing Shaders)

Upload time

  • Step 24: Click VRChatSDK at the top
  • Step 25: Click control panel
  • Step 26: Login
  • Step 27: Click "1.) Prepare your content"
  • Step 28: Type in a name
  • Step 29: Make sure visibility is private
  • Step 30: Hit "Capture in scene" to make a thumbnail
  • Step 31: Hit Shift + Right mouse button + Scroll wheel you can adjust the speed of your zoom to adjust your thumbnail
  • Step 32: Click Capture to confirm thumbnail
  • Step 33: Under "2.) Review Any Alerts" see if there's any "Auto fixes", if it says "Auto Fix" instead of "Select" click it to Auto Fix.
  • Step 34: At the bottom, click "ThDe info above is accurate and i hvave the right to upload this content" Checkbox
  • Step 35: Click Build & Publish
  • Step 36: Click Save if it asks you to save, and hit "ok" if any other windows pop up
  • Step 37: It will compile Scripts and will take a few minutes and say "Building Avatar"
  • Step 38: When it says green "Upload Succeeded" you are ready to go in vrchat!
    Upload Succeeded!


Add Gogoloco

  • Uncollapse the folder called "Packages" in bottom left
  • Go to Gogoloco
  • Go to Runtime
  • GoGo
  • GoLoco
  • Prefabs
  • VRCFury
  • Find the GoBeyond Blue Bog
  • Click and drag tht up to the rusk avatar in the heirarchy
  • You can now upload

Add Toggles

  • Go to Tail
  • In the right hand side inspector, click "Add component" at the bottom
  • Type Toggle, click the one that says vrcfury
  • Under Menu Path, type "Body Parts/Tail"
  • Click Add Acton +
  • Click Object Toggle
  • Drag from the heirarchy "Tail" to where it says None (Game Object)
  • Click Options next to menu and hit "Default On"


Change Hair Color

  • Make sure your shader is unlocked, by clciking on the hair material and click unlock at the top
  • Go to Hair
  • In the right right hadn side inspector click "add component" at the bottom
  • Toggle
  • Type "Use a slider"
  • Under Menu Path write Body Parts/Hair Color
  • Hit Add Action
  • Click Material Property
  • Drag hair to None (Renderer)
  • Under Property search look for _MainHueShift and click the one that says "Color & Normals > Color ADjust > Hue Shift (Mat: YourMaterial) (_MainHueShift)
  • Go back to the material
  • Uncollapse Color & Normals
  • Uncollapse Color ADjust
  • Right click Hue Shift with the line and the 0
  • Right click it and hit animated when locked


Test in Unity

  • Uncollapse Packages > Gesture Manager
  • Click the blue box and drag it to your avatar in the heirarchy
  • click the play button in the top center of the screen
  • click Scene tab in the top middle leftish
  • Click Gesture maanger there is a raidal dial in the inspector
  • It should work just like vrchat


Blender Guide

Setup

  • Delete Cube, Camera, Light in the Scene Collection
  • Click Edit > Lock Object Mode
  • Install CATS plugin by dragging to the window and hitting ok
  • Near the X, Y, Z (Red, Green Blue) there is a tiny tiny sideways ^, click it to make a new set of sideways tabs open.
  • Click the CATS sideways tab
  • Under "CATS" tab, click "Import Model" and click your FBX

Move Around Blender

  • Scroll Wheel = Zoom in and Zoom out
  • Click & Hold Scroll Wheel to rotate
  • Shift, Click & Drag Scroll Wheel to pan


Add A Texture

  • On the Right side under Collection, uncollapse armature
  • Uncollapse any yellow triangle
  • Click the green triangle (Mesh Mode) (Mesh is surrounded by a yellow outline)
  • Click the red circle (not the world) to get mesh materials.
  • Click the word "Base Color"
  • Click "Image Texture" (2nd column)
  • Click the folder at the right
  • Find your texture

UV MAPS

  • At the top left click "Object Mode" click it, and hit "edit Mode"
  • At the top middle of blender click "UV Editing" tab
  • On the left it will show the texture and where on the model the texture is pulling from
  • Click off the model to unselect it
  • Highlight a vertices and hit the "L" button to select the whole "Linked" object
  • In the left panel, the UV will show where the
