Intro

First off - Please dont be afraid of these rules. They aren't your typical boring stupid lame rules. They're fun to read :3

How to read the rules: First read the caption to get a basic idea of the rule. Then click "show" at the right to read more about the rule.

Do the rules apply to me?

• In general, yes. As you get older in the guild, more of them are more lax.
• If you think you are too good for or above the rules, don't even bother to waste our time by joining our guild. Thx. ^_~
• (they are basic respect rules. If you don't/won't respect your friends, then there's no help for you here)

How Can I help?

• If you see any rules that are outdated or need to be added/changed, please do so.
• Staff cannot be online 100% of the time. We rely on regular members to help keep everyone in check too. If you, as a member, spot anything going on, please take screenshots, and report to us. If you think you can help resolve the situation without causing any more conflict, please do :) If you think that they are being over the top, and are not going to calm down, just report, and dont get involved. This includes if you see people logging in/out without talking, please let us know about those things too! :)

Rules

0 ♥ (Rules = TL;DR?)~> The most important things about being in the guild.

• Talk to us. A lot. About everything. In English. In good English.
• Don't talk in guild about stuff that makes people mad without TACT. (Religion, Politics, Self Harm)
• Don't Make people mad.
• Don't Get mad.
• Don't start drama or contribute to it even if you didn't start it.
• Log on everyday (or almost)
• Don't beg for crap.
• Talk to Cait if there is a problem with someone/something. Provide screenies. Believe it or not, she wants -everyone- to be happy, and believe that everyone CAN be happy. Proper action/warnings will be taken with proof.

• We love randomness. Love. ... ... ... Love... But not 110% randomness, lol.

• We cannot be online 100% of the time. We rely on regular members to help keep everyone in check too. If you, as a member, spot anything going on, please take screenshots, and report. If you think you can help resolve the situation without causing any more conflict, please do :) If you think that they are being over the top, and are not going to calm down, just report, and dont get involved. This includes if you see people logging in/out without talking, please let us know about those things too! :) Thank you very much for keeping our guild fun and stress-free.

1 ♥When you are a newbie, do not break the rules.

When you are new to the guild, we want to make sure you are serious about being in this guild. Therefore, you are expected, as a newbie, to follow all rules of the guild, religiously. (Note that this is somewhat of a joke, lol)

If you are here just to start drama or beg for items then GTFO >:O. After you are no longer a newbie, you are allowed push back a bit on some rules. :3

2 ♥This is an ENGLISH social guild - You MUST talk to us.

The main purpose of Firefly is not to have 20% bonus exp every week, or be the highest levels, or strongest players. Our purpose is to chat. Not only about our characters in game, but about our real lives. You are expected to tell us "useless" things such as what you had for lunch, what your horoscope says about today, how your dad licked a jeep yesterday, when your cat puked on the floor and your brother stepped in it, etc.

If you do NOT talk to us, then you will be booted. If you wish to retry the guild - and talk more, feel free to.

In addition to talking to us, you must also be literate in the English language. If you do not speak English well, do not join us. If you speak like a blithering idiot, do not join us. (EX: Hi i r a nub n i wil taelk 2 u giyz in da gild)



If English is not your native language, and you can speak well enough to understand and have a conversation, that is quite alright too. Remember we CAN help you learn and get better! :D

Also keep in mind that with a constantly active guild chat, you will have a hard time seeing "all chat". You are not allowed to say things such as "Can you guys be quiet? I'm trying to talk in all chat" Take it to whisper/party. Or better yet, invite them to the guild :)

If you are a happy hyper person (Yet not spammy) that loves to be random - THIS IS A HUGE ASSET!

Also - NO complete conversations in RUSSIAN, AL BHED, SPANISH, PORTUGUESE, KLINGON, GERMAN, CANADIAN, MEXICAN, AMERICAN, HAITIAN, ANARCTICAN. ONLY ENGLISH.

If you want to say something in another language to TEASE Someone you ARE GOOD FRIENDS WITH, then its fine. But hold non-English conversations in whisper/party :D

3 ♥Firefly is a HARDCORE active guild. Serenity is a CASUAL active guild.

In Firefly, the goal is to be able to log on at any hour of the day/night and there will be people on, and hopefully a conversation going. So therefore, you are expected to be on -almost every single day-. You are allowed to be gone for tests, vacations, etc. Just let us know so we put [NK] on your title, and you won't be booted for up to a month! :D

In Serenity, the goal is to be able to provide a guild where you don't have to worry about being booted if you miss a day as a newbie - While still trying to maintain the activity. So in Serenity, there is more leeway on "Will I get booted or not?"

4 ♥Firefly -will- be your new family. We will use Jedi mind tricks to enslave you.

At Firefly, you will become family. You will love them, they will love you. If you do not come into this guild seeking/giving/accepting the love of friendship, then you will be booted. (This means, like, if you are a troll :D)

If you do not care about the other members, they will not care about you. You must make an attempt at getting to know others as a newbie. If I ask the guild at some point "Does anyone care if I boot *name*? They haven't been on in awhile." If they all say "No one knows him" or "Nope, I don't care" then guess what? They're getting booted. :3

5 ♥You must not be offended; if someone says a joke - take it with a grain of salt.

Because this guild is based upon love, you must learn that people will make jokes (see rule 6 though), and you are not to be offended by them. As your guildies are saying the things they do for amusement, not for anger/hatred. If you take something the wrong way, and get pissed and cause drama, you are gone.

In the event you do have a problem with someone, and you believe they are legit harrassing you, please PM a Firefly staff members with the issue and any screenshots if necessary. If someone else is being legit mean to you, actions/warnings will be given to the offenders. Please note that when there is an issue, you can be at fault too, if you are ALSO being a jerk. So Protip: DONT BE A JERK, REPORT THOSE WHO ARE :O

Treat others the way you would like be treated...

6 ♥Do not harass people. Directly or indirectly.

Even though we all love each other, sometimes you need to be careful on what you say. I know, I know, people need to take a joke, but if for some reason they can't, please don't try and egg them on. If you are provoking people directly - you will be given a warning / possible action of booted. No one likes mean people - not even us.

We do, however, understand that sometimes a bad day can provoke us to say things that we don't mean. Screenshots provided along with the history of that member may prevent any warnings/actions from being given.. Cuz we know bad stuff happens.. And sometimes all you need is a hug and a "sorry" :) *snuggs*

Also, let's try to promote a happy atmosphere. If someone is being mean + harassing, that does NOT give you the right to be mean and harassing back. If you're being mean + harassing BACK, YOU are in trouble just as much as the original person is. Just ignore when people are being mean, and submit screenshots of what happened.

7 ♥Some things do not need to be talked about all the time.

Even though we have rules 5 and 6, some subjects are in general, touchy subjects. Please try to avoid these subjects, especially when a lot of people are online. If -everyone- online doesn't have a problem with a particular subject, then it's okay to talk about. However if someone states they have an issue with the topic, please stop or take the convo to party/whisper.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Sex
• Drugs
• Alcohol
• Religion
• Politics
• Suicide
• Murder
• Masochism
• Kitten Huffing

8 ♥In the event you do get booted...

If you get booted you are more than welcome to come back. However if you keep breaking the rules, and keep getting booted, there may be a time when I say "Look you're not serious about being here with us as a family, go away" When you are booted, I will send you a memo before I boot you with the reason of your booting, as well as an invitation to come back. If you do not receive a memo after you've been booted, then more than likely, Cait was not the one who booted you, and a submaster wasn't doing their job right, and needs to be beaten.

Reasons that people are booted:

• Inactivity (Gone a long time, like 1-2 weeks or more without telling anyone)
• Not Talking (If you log in, and we say hi, and you NEVER say hi back, you get booted)
• Being a Jerk (Now this is a difficult one to boot on, especially for Cait.. please see the next section)

Remember, that we DO believe that people can change, and you are MORE than welcome to try the guild again :)

Jerkhood, upsetting people, and you

When people are upsetting others, it's one of the hardest things for me to deal with, as a guild leader, and a person. I expect everyone to WANT to get along with others, and want others to be happy too. I know this is hard, especially in todays world... But this is why we're part of the socially elite. We care about eachother. I do understand, that sometimes, people say things they dont mean while in a bad mood... or if they interpret things differently than they were meant to... or that 2 good personalities may even clash to create 1 bad experience. Seperateing these people usually solves the problem.. But here's some tips on how to "Not" be a jerk.

• Be curious. If you know a subject upsets someone, don't talk about it while they are online.
• Don't upset others. Before you hit enter, re-read your sentence. Think about "Could this upset anyone?" If the answer is yes, don't hit enter.
• Respect legit wishes. If someone asks you to stop talking about something... please stop. If there's an issue, report it with screenies.
• Treat others the way you would like be to treated... unless you're a masochist.
• Don't spam useless crap, and try to keep sentences longer. Don't hit enter after every couple words. This irritates some people, and disrupts the flow of the chat.
• If you have the type of personality that absolutely can NOT let things go without a fight, please sign off, and come back on later when you are calm.
• Don't break obvious important rules. Like if you bring drama from outside/PVP/facebook/skype/the toilet into the guild, for example, you will be warned!

*When in doubt, just sign off, and come back later

• There's more to go here, but it's hard for me to think of. Please add ways to not be a jerk here! :D

8.5 ♥Inactivity, Being booted, and you (Seven daaayyyssss)

If you are'nt a [Member]/VIP yet, and are gone more than a week or two, you are gone. Period. This is to keep our guild as active as possible.

You are ALWAYS welcome to come back.

If you are going to be done for a bit more than a week, and still don't want to be booted, please let us know so we can put "[NK]" in your title, so you wont be kicked. But even so if you are gone for too long, (like a month or more) you will be booted anyway.

While this may seem "not fair" think of it this way.. We at Firefly, are people who play EVERYDAY. We love to have a CONSTANT chat going, so that you can log on any time of the day or night and have people to talk to.

Think of it this way.. If everyone gets bored of Trickster and leaves, but doesn't want to be booted, then I'm stuck with a bunch of inactives taking up guild spots.. When they decide to come back.. they whine to me "CAIT THERES NO ONE TO TALK TO, YOUR GUILD SUCKS NOW" Ok, well if I would boot everyone that's inactive, I could keep active people for you to come back to! :D

MAKE SENSE RIGHT? Ok. So don't get pissed when I boot you, either do 1 of 3 things.

8.75 ♥Am I in danger of being booted?

If your title says [D] then YES.
If your title says [P] then NOT REALLY.
If your title says [VIP] then NO.

9 ♥The guild is not mainly your advertisement for the game.

If you want somewhere to tell us where you are buying or selling items, don't do it in guild chat if you are a newbie.

After you are no longer a newbie, you can post what you're buying or selling whenever you wish within reason This also includes asking for free items, free powerleveling, etc. If you wanna ask someone out on a date or something though, even though it's not a free item, it's probably best to wait until you're no longer a newbie too. If you flirt with people you barely know or with everyone it makes you look desperate. No one likes a desperate guy/girl. *stares at Cait*

10 ♥Drama is NOT ALLOWED

Drama in our guild is not allowed. If you are harassing other guilds, other players, provoking others, starting fights, picking on people, etc. then you will be booted. Our guild is a strictly drama-free zone. This includes being a smartass as a newbie. If it's your nature to be a smartass, wait till you are no longer new, ok? ok. :3

If there IS drama, then PLEASE DO NOT contribute to it. LET IT GO and submit screenies. Appropriate action/warnings will be give to the offender. If YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE DRAMA BACK, YOU ARE JUST AS AT FAULT!

YOUR JOB as a good member is to PUT A STOP to any drama, even if it's directed at you!

11 ♥Other things that are NOT ALLOWED

As a newbie, please:

• No begging for items
• No begging for free items
• No begging for help getting items
• No begging for power leveling
• No scamming
• No spamming
• No typing in caps constantly
• No Capitalizing Every Word In Your Sentence, It Gets Seriously Annoying. Seriously.
• No spamming in ALL CHAT either.
• Bashing Cochma for he is the cutest ultima
• No throwing prinnies, d00d.
• Etc.

12 ♥Generally one character is allowed in the guild at a time. (Alts and Mules)

At Firefly, we don't accept your character to the guild, we accept you. This means if you want your bunny to be in the guild while you level it, then you can have your bunny in the guild. If you decide you want to switch to your lion, we can boot your bunny and have your lion join us until you're done with the lion. We will accept and boot your characters as many times as you'd like.

If we have room available (At the discretion of management), you can have both characters in the guild at one time, but one WILL be booted if we need the space. They will be marked with [M] Title.

If you feel like being sneaky, you can have 2 characters in the guild at the same time if you don't tell us the other one is you. - HOWEVER - you must play both enough to be considered active on both - or else one will be booted! :O

13 ♥We will kick you if you want us to, BUT...

When you apply for Firefly, we want you to be with us until you quit the game. If you are thinking you want to be with us for only 2 weeks, before you guild hop again, then I guess its okay, but we'd rather you try us out, and hopefully you will end up staying longer. We only have 128 spaces available, and we want each of those spaces to go to someone special. All our members are hand picked to become VIP. We want you to be a VIP too. :3

So in conclusion - if you want us to boot you for whatever reason, we will. But I ask you give us a reason as to why you want to be booted, and what we could improve on in the guild, if something made you want to leave.

14 ♥YOU are playing your character on Trickster Online, not us.

We teach independence here. This means that yes, digging up suncreams on your first character IS hard. But compared to stuff you'll have to do later, it's CAKE. We don't want to play the game for you. If we did, we would make another character. Cait especially doesn't help anyone ever, because she's MEAN, EVIL, AND CRUNCHY.

15 ♥You are not being ignored.

If you ask a question or say something, and no one responds, this does NOT MEAN that people are ignoring you. It means one of the following things.

• A.) No one knows / No one has the item you're looking for.
• B.) They might not have seen the question - some people are slow readers and guild chat can go by fast, especially if your chat window is small.
• C.) They may all be AFK

In 99% of the cases though, it is safe to assume the answer is NO.

If this is a serious question you want answered, PLEASE ask it again, NICELY. None of this "everyone is ignoring me ;-; *CUT*" Crap.

If you suspect people are ignoring you, this is causing DRAMA. because NO ONE IS IGNORED. SOMETIMES things get missed. SOMETIMES we have the chat window closed. SOMETIMES we are AFK! We are ONLY human, you know. 'cept Cait. She's the embodiment of evil.

16 ♥Deep down, we are all insane.

Our chats are random, sometimes making no sense, sometimes involve random Pokemon or Power Ranger battles. If you can't deal with mature, adult insanity, then you will probably not like this guild.

If you like mature randomness, then apply. Right. Now.

17 ♥Feel free to contribute to the guild in any way.

Cait isn't god of everything. You as a member have a right to do anything she does - including these fun activities.

• Start, run, and host GVG Tournaments
• Adding more rules to the rules page
• Updating the member list
• Updating the top rankings
• Starting/planning/organizing guild events such as hide and seek, o/x, etc.
• Starting a role play
• Starting a grinding party or guild project
• Organizing a guild screenshot
• Making a movie about Firefly + Its members
• Drawing pictures about Firefly + Its members
• Post at the forums
• Posting at the forums
• Please post on the forums ^_^
• Etc.

18 ♥What to do when there is no chat happening

When there is no chat happening, it can be frustrating, I know. Here's some easy to follow steps to take when chat is not happening..

• Say hello, ask if anyone is there
• If no one is there, ask a general question, such as "Do any of you like turtles?" or "Hey, what NPC is the hottest?" or "Man suncreams remind me of donuts, do any of you want donuts too?"
• If nothing else, you can fill in the void (NOT SPAMMING, BTW) by doing something, such as a.) singing a song, b.) writing a short story, c.) poetry, d.)ascii art, etc.
• To announce you are going to do this, say things such as "This is a song called "Halo" by Beyonce." or "I'm going to write a short story called "Dog with hotdog in rain".
• Do not announce it in a fashion that may cause drama such as "IMA SPAM THE HELL OUT OF CHAT NAO MAWHA&YRAHREAJEIADSS *RAPES MUDKIPZ*"

19 ♥When you say things that could be taken the wrong way, do not get pissed if they ARE taken the wrong way

For example if you say "I'M GOING TO POST A WHOLE BUNCH OF DEMONIC MAN PORN ON THE WIKI" then someone is probably going to get upset and try to stop you. So just LET IT GO. :3

20 ♥If 4.9 people complain about you, you will be booted.

In the past, we have received complaints about people, certain people. Because Cait is a.. *music plays* JOOOSIEEE AND THE ~PUSSY~ CAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTS~~ *Music stops* and can't boot people for behavior very easily, cuz it makes her feel bad, if we get around 4.9 people complaining about a certain member, I will talk to that member in whisper. If they do not straighten up, then they will be booted, and not allowed to come back until they changed. So if you appreciate us, don't be an ass. Thx <3

Please note that people cant complain "FOR TEH LULZ" I will make sure that a kick is really warranted before they are kicked. (Screenshot proof etc)

21 ♥Laziness is NOT an excuse.

I've had a ton of people "O I DUN WANNA REGISTER @ THE WIKI CUZ I R TEH LAZY." or "LOL I DUN WANNA TALK CUZ IM LAZY". That is not an excuse. This is a family, family requires effort. if you don't want to make the effort to BECOME part of our family, then you WILL NOT BE ALLOWED HERE. DO NOT come in this guild with a lazy, mean, self-centered attitude.

Unless it's about demanding pancakes. You are allowed to demand pancakes.

22 ♥Certain things being said will make you lose respect. (Keep atmosphere Positive)

For example... If we ask "Why did you join this guild?" If you say "For the experience," that makes us lose respect for you and you are likely to be booted sooner than normal.

There are many other things that you can say to make us lose respect for you. I won't list them here, but really, before you speak, think about what you're saying. Does the thing you say leave a negative atmosphere? If yes, it doesn't need to be said, and you will loose brownie points. Please keep a positive atmosphere! :)

And no, throwing a bucket of protons on top of your negative comment will NOT reduce the respect loss >:O

23 ♥We aren't here to play the game for you

Ok, look. If you are having a hard time drilling paradise items, just think how bad azteca or rose garden or heaven forbid, snow hell is like. If you cant do a quest, DONT DEMAND we help you do it. If we wanted to do it, we would make another character for ourselves.

It's okay to ask once, but if noone wants to help you at this particular time, its best to try another quest. Don't get mad. Don't start yelling about how we suck. We aren't your mothers. You play the game for you. Not us for you. Find another method of leveling up and come back to that quest later... or don't do it at all. Not all quests are worth doing. Sometimes we will help you, yes, but dont demand it.

Also, if you need someone to AFK at a mine for you, please just ask ONCE! There are level limits in the mines which most likely means that there won't be too many people who can AFK for you. If someone can, then great. But if not then don't rage quit the guild pl0x.
